LEXINGTON, KY (WTVQ)- Lexington Parks and Recreation kicked off summer with a Care-A-Van. The Future is Bright Celebration featured dozens of participants, including Lexington Fire Department, Big L from the Lexington Legends and Steel City Pops, who passed out free Popsicles.
With so many events cancelled for kids this summer, Lexington Parks and Rec said they wanted Monday’s even to spread some excitement and fun for kids.
“We want everyone to remember that we’re a community,” said Michelle Franzetti, special events service manager. “Even though we’ve had to spend some time in doors and spend some time separating with each other, we can still enjoy something together.”
