LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Lexington Police Department says the neighbor of a 3-year-old girl, who was sodomized and killed, has been charged with her death.

Reck was found unresponsive at an apartment at 1040 Cross Keys Road on December 10, 2018. She was rushed to the University of Kentucky Hospital, where she died on December 14.

Police say Reck was in Buster’s care while her mother was at work.

According to police, the medical examiner’s office ruled Reck’s death a homicide and DNA evidence later confirmed there was foul play involved.

Lillyann’s mother, Kristin Silvey, sent us a statement:

“Words cannot describe how hurt and lost I am. Knowing that there is finally justice makes me happy. Making me happy though won’t and can’t ever bring her back.”

Buster made his first court appearance Tuesday.

A judge entered a not guilty plea and appointed him a public defender.

His bond was set at $1-million. He’s scheduled to be seen in court next month.

Buster is charged with sodomy and murder.

He’s lodged at the Fayette County Detention Center.
