KSP: Driver runs stop sign, causing fatal crash in Trigg County

CADIZ, Ky. (WTVQ) – A crash in Trigg County leaves a driver and his passenger dead and three other people injured.

Kentucky State Police say 21-year-old Brandon Hare, of Cadiz, was driving a 2017 Toyota Tacoma pickup on US HWY 68 and KY 139 in Cadiz around 7:40 p.m. Sunday when he failed to stop at a stop sign and was hit by a 1999 Honda Civic.

State Police say Hare was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger, 20-year-old Jarod Ballengee, of Cadiz, was taken to Trigg County Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

The driver of the Honda Civic and his two passengers were also taken Trigg County Hospital. State Police say the passengers were treated and released. The driver was transferred to another hospital for further treatment.
