MT. STERLING, Ky. (WTVQ) – Rumpke wants to remind customers that service is not interrupted because of the Independence Day holiday.
They say customers should place material at the curb the night before scheduled collection.
Additionally, Rumpke reminds customers about how to safely dispose of fireworks.
“Fireworks that aren’t properly extinguished can reignite,” said Bridgett Biggs, Area Safety Manager, Rumpke. “Please soak these items in water prior to disposal.”
According to Biggs, fireworks aren’t the only items that pose a fire hazard if not properly prepared.
“Charcoal embers pose similar issues and should also be soaked in water prior to placing in trash cans.”
For those that prefer grilling with propane – Rumpke asks that you return propane tanks back to vendors and not place in trash or recycling.
