Firefighters, good Samaritans honored for saving UKPD officer


LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- This weekend, the first responders and good Samaritans who helped save a UK Police Officer were recognized with an award.

UKPD posted a video online, sharing the Lexington Fire Department’s awards banquet.

Firefighters Clay Brown, Daniel Hall, Brandon Irvin, and Josh Nichols won the EMS Life Saver Award. Good Samaritans Chip Carter, Alex Rosenzweig, and Brandon King were also honored.

Early in January, UK Officer Alan Saylor had a heart attack on campus.

Two of his main arteries were blocked and the third was 40% blocked.

Saylor has since made a full recovery and was able to thank his rescuers at the banquet.
