LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Officials honored Lexington law enforcement officers that went beyond the call of protect and serve.
“Among those honored was Greg Muravchick, Chief of Police at Transylvania University. He’s credited for stopping a machete attack at a coffee shop without using deadly force with employees and students nearby.
The 40 year law enforcement veteran credits his years of training in the State Police and humbly thanks the other folks that helped stop a tragedy from happening that day.
“The satisfaction is the hugs and the gratitude from it, especially the victims and the community. You work together as a team and it wasn’t just one individual, it was everybody working together,” said Muravchick.
Other honorees included detective Franz Wolfe. Wolfe led the investigation that led to the arrest of two men accused of murdering Marine Jonathan Price.
