Boy hit by train still battling life-threatening injuries


LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- A little boy is still fighting to survive after getting hit by a train in Laurel County Friday night.

As of Saturday evening, his injuries are still life-threatening.

The sheriff’s office says around 8:30 Friday night the train hit the 12-year-old off Robinson Creek Road near the water plant overpass.

Deputies say they’ve learned the boy lived near the tracks and family and neighbors were looking for him when he was hit.

The sheriff’s office isn’t sure yet whether any charges will be filed.

The sheriff’s office will review video recorded from the train on Monday.
